The Capital Area Tennis Association (CATA) is excited to welcome Sylvia Krywacz to the team as the new leader of Junior Team Tennis (JTT). Sylvia brings an incredible amount of energy, passion, and confidence to the role, stepping in seamlessly to lead and grow one of CATA’s most impactful youth programs. Her background as an educator, coach, and former professional player uniquely positions her to elevate JTT as a meaningful, team-based experience for kids, families, and coaches across Central Texas.
Sylvia holds a Master’s degree in Educational Administration and has spent her career developing youth-centered programs through both education and tennis leadership. Her experience includes serving as Junior Team Tennis Coordinator and Junior Competitive Coordinator for USTA Texas, Director of Junior Tennis at a large public facility, and most recently mentoring educators in the classroom. With deep roots in junior tennis and a clear vision for growth, Sylvia is poised to strengthen JTT as a program of value, connection, and community — advancing CATA’s mission to grow tennis and promote healthier communities.
“Tennis and junior development have been a constant part of my career, from directing junior programs at a public park tennis center, to competing collegiately and professionally on the ITF and WTA tours, to serving in Junior Team Tennis and junior competition roles with USTA Texas. Most recently, I’ve also spent several years in education, leading and mentoring students and teachers while working closely with families. These experiences have really shaped how I approach supporting coaches and building strong, well-run Junior Team Tennis programs. I’m thrilled to be back working in tennis and look forward to partnering with you to grow JTT in a way that’s organized, fun, and focused on long-term player development.
