Guest Speakers: CATA is excited to announce Vickie Paynter-Finney and Jodie McGarity as our guest speakers this year.
Vickie Paynter-Finney:
Paynter-Finney is a former University of Texas tennis player who lead the Longhorns to the 1993 National Championship title at No. 1 singles and doubles. She currently holds records for career doubles winning percentage (.866) as well as single season doubles winning percentage (.946) for the University of Texas.
As a professional player, Paynter-Finney reached a career high doubles ranking of 112 in the world, and qualified for the main draw in both the French and US Open in 1994 and 1995.
Today, she is a mom of three and runs the web division of Dot Command Center, Inc.
Jodie McGarity:
McGarity is a trainer with The Positive Coaching Alliance, a CATA partnering organization that develops Better Athletes, Better People through resources for youth and high school sports coaches, parents, administrators and student-athletes. A former semi-pro basketball player, Coach McGarity focuses on preparing athlete’s for life’s challenges.
McGarity is also the owner of Texas Disciples Sports & Fitness, where he is a player development and fitness trainer with a passion for healthy lifestyles through fitness training and proper nutrition.
