Tennis is having a moment.
Participation is surging across the country, and here in Austin, we’re seeing it firsthand. In one of the fastest-growing communities in America, more people than ever are picking up a racket, looking for courts, and searching for connection through tennis.
We’ve been here with you for that growth. And now, we’re evolving to meet what comes next.
Today, we’re proud to introduce Tennis Austin.
For decades, many have known us as the Capital Area Tennis Association (CATA), the local Community Tennis Association serving players across the Austin area. While our legal name remains the same, our public identity is evolving into something clearer, bolder, and more connected to the community we serve.
Why Tennis Austin?
Because this organization has long served as a connector for tennis across Central Texas, we are now building on that foundation in a more intentional and strategic way, bringing together players, families, facilities, schools, coaches, volunteers, and community partners to meet the demands of a rapidly growing region and a new generation of players.
In 2025, our Board adopted a new strategic vision focused on growing tennis and strengthening healthier communities throughout Central Texas. That vision includes:
- intentionally introducing tennis to elementary aged students
- developing pathways for interested players to become involved and stay playing
- creating more social and flexible ways to play
- supporting court access and facility growth
- strengthening volunteer engagement
- growing junior pathways
- building community partnerships across the region
We will continue serving as the sanctioned Community Tennis Association (CTA) for USTA adult and junior leagues and tournaments, while also becoming more intentional about how we introduce, support, and grow tennis throughout the Austin metroplex.
What’s changing is not our footprint, but the momentum.
From Georgetown to Kyle, Dripping Springs to Manor, and communities all across the Capital Area, Tennis Austin will continue advocating for public court access, supporting facilities, providing scholarships, donating equipment, creating new programming, and bringing people together through tennis.
And importantly, this rebrand is about more than a logo.
It’s about creating an identity we can all rally around. One that reflects the energy, inclusiveness, and future of tennis in Austin.
Because Tennis Austin isn’t just our new name, it’s where we’re headed together.
“We want Tennis Austin to feel bigger than an organization. We want it to feel like something the community can belong to and help build together.” -Amber Jordan, Executive Director
There’s much more ahead, and we can’t wait to share it with you. [Learn more about the rebrand → here]
