The FUZE Committee, part of CATA, is actively working to improve tennis access and infrastructure across Austin – and recent efforts have led to meaningful progress in three key areas:
Strengthening School Partnerships
We’ve made progress in partnering with local high schools and middle schools to enable safe and responsible community access to their tennis courts. These collaborations also support CATA programming, creating win-win scenarios that benefit both students and the broader community. Thanks to USTA’s SmartAccess program, local High Schools can manage court reservations and earn money for their tennis programs.
Ramsey Park Renovation Approved
Through an approved CAPP (Community Activated Park Project) proposal, we’ve secured permission to renovate the courts at Ramsey Park. This important step sets the stage for future revitalization efforts at other city park courts in need of repair.
Expansion Efforts at Austin Tennis Center
The FUZE Committee is actively working with the City of Austin to secure approval for additional courts at the Austin Tennis Center. While the process is ongoing, we’re pleased to report meaningful progress toward expanding this vital facility.
