USTA Adult Leagues
USTA USA League Tennis is team-based play.
Leagues are organized into divisions comprised of teams with players in the same skill level (NTRP rating).
Teams compete to win weekly matches, and the team with the most match wins in a season (Spring only) advances to sectional playoffs.
Typically, there are two seasons per year - one in the Spring and one in the Fall - comprised of a minimum 8 matches per season.
In a given match, players play individual singles or doubles matches (called "lines") and the team that wins the most lines wins the match.
A line match is usually 2 sets with a first-to-10-by-2 tiebreaker played to decide the winner if the sets are split (
Coman tiebreak).
Each team has a captain/player that organizes the team and sets the lineup for matches.
Players must be 19 years of age or older to participate in adult league play.
To join in on the fun and competition, read more below about the USTA League that's right for you!

Lone Star Tennis is a USTA program where beginner teams compete in a local half-day tournament event, with winners advancing to state sectional competition.
A team is made up of 6 to 12 players.
Teams compete by playing 3 lines of doubles (no singles).
Each doubles line is an 8-game pro set, no ad scoring, sudden death in ties.
The team that wins the Lone Star tournament in Austin earns a trip to Lone Star sectionals where they will play with other teams from around Texas in a weekend of great fun, great tennis, and great prizes.
The Lone Star tournament is scheduled for March 29, 2008 at the Polo Tennis & Fitness Club (
See flyer).
Do I qualify to play Lone Star?
Lone Star is for beginner players only.

Players must be 19 years of age or older or turn 19 within the calendar year of play.

USTA (if not already a USTA member). If you would like to captain a Lone
Star team, grab a few friends and talk to your local pro about helping you get
a team formed. Tell your pro that he/she gets $75 to sign up a new team.
